Babcock SHERQ officer has his eye on a new medal

Johannes will go the distance for Comrades downrun

Johannes Sbusiso Mlangeni is a SHERQ Officer within the Sasolburg operations of our Plant Hire Services business. Johannes, once an avid soccer player decided to try out marathon running in 2002. It wasn’t long after that he bid the soccer field farewell and said hello to an illustrious  running career.

When asked about how running has changed his life, Johannes replied that he is “always healthy and less sick.  I am physically fit and mentally strong, living a better life.”

Johannes has more than 150 medals and on Sunday he is hoping to add another one to his growing collection. It will be his very first Comrades Marathon. This year will be a down run and Johannes is hoping to complete the race in 9 hours.
