Volvo CE Masters

Babcock through to the final round

The Volvo CE Masters competition was initially conducted in 1990 as a part of the 30 year anniversary of Volvo CE Service Training.  From 1990 to 1996 it was structured as individual competitions among service technicians.  In 1998 service technicians began competing in teams.  Since 2000 the teams consist of both parts and service technicians in regional and global finals. The Volvo CE Masters is arranged by the global and regional aftermarket training organizations.

The Competition

The 2015-2016 Volvo CE Masters began in Quarter 3 of 2015 and will end in September 2016. The competition is organized in different rounds, starting at dealer level and then leading up to the regional and global final.  The competing teams are judged on a scale of performance wherein not only their technical and parts systems knowledge and skills are evaluated, but also proper handling of tools and demonstration of Volvo’s core values.

Team Babcock aka MagnificentMasters

There were 60 mechanics that wrote the theoretical exam, out of which the  Top 30 participated in an online test.  Thereaffter, the Top 6 were divided into two teams, who then participated in the next round of testing where the "Magnificentmasters" emerged as the top team and was invited to participate in south hub final. The south hub final consisted of 7  countries: Egypt, Iraq, Nigeria, Oman, Tunisia, UAE and South Africa.  The first teams to qualify from the EMEA Region were Team FAMCO Air-Force from U.A.E, and the team from Babcock - MagnificentMasters.  The two teams will go through to the EMEA final in Konz Germany at the end of May 2016.

We're extremely proud of our guys for making it this far and will be crossing fingers for them in the final.
