Training and Development
Babcock is committed to developing skills in the plant hire industry.
Our plant training centre is situated 5 km’s from OR Tambo Airport in Jet Park. Opened in 2014, the training centre objective is to advance the skills of machine operators and drivers, thereby improving safety standards in the mobile lifting industry.
Babcock employees are continuously trained and up-skilled to ensure safe and superior service to our customers. Crane operator training and driver training consists of a minimum of 40 hours specialised, certified training managed by an accredited facilitator.
Future courses, currently in development in conjunction with the Transport Education Training Authority (TETA), go beyond the industry average in meeting legal requirements and will provide qualification at National Diploma / NQF 4 Level.
