Over 3000 power industry stakeholders, utilities and sub-Saharan government officials from pan-Africa and abroad attended POWER-GEN & DistribuTECH Africa 2016.  The three-day conference and expo showcased strategies and technologies for advanced power generation and distribution.

Babcock is an established and experienced steam generation and industrial plant supplier in Africa. With 125 years’ experience our skilled workforce enables us to provide safe, effective solutions for the entire lifecycle of industrial plant. Capabilities include management of projects and the design, construction and servicing of energy and process plant facilities throughout Africa. Specialised expertise encompasses major power utility projects, owner-operator facilities and construction projects.

Babcock has a proven track record of newly built plant and long-term contracts for maintenance and repair of boiler plants in South Africa, Botswana and Libya, as well as smaller industrial plants across Africa.

Babcock maintains an existing 12 300 MW utility scale steam generation plant and 10 000 MW of high energy piping through a long-term service agreement with Eskom, via full permanent site infrastructure, and has the ability to command large pools of specialised resources at short notice to handle planned and unplanned outages.
