Back in the 90’s, as our engineering business grew, the need to have our own fabrication facility became of strategic importance and a fabrication facility was opened in Jet Park in 1993.
This facility is well equipped to deal with high-pressure tubular fabrication and manipulations as well as welding and assembly of high pressure tubular components for the energy and metallurgical industries. Pressure pipes, boiler tubes, membrane furnace panels and various other items can be fabricated to customers’ requirements and/or design. Sectors serviced include petrochemical, chemical, sugar, paper, water, mining and associated process sectors.
The 3260 sqm workshop area consists of 4 bays, while satellite workshops of 1000sqm house the hydrostatic test, spray painting and stores facilities.
The workshops are supplied via piped ring mains, with LPG gas, oxygen, argon, and compressed air. Electricity is supplied from three transformers giving a combined output of 1300 kVA - more than enough to support a capacity of 100 000 man hours throughout the year.
Customers include Eskom, Kelvin Power, SASOL, SAPREF, NATREF, Chevron, Illovo, Tongaat Hulett, Exxaro, Impala Platinum, KCM Copper, Sappi, Mondi, Steinmuller, Actom Power, Hitachi Africa.
