DAF delivers reliability for Gundo

Mining continues to be one of South Africa’s driving forces, which in turn is supported by trucks that literally drive the sector. Leading provider of logistics and fleet management solutions for the mining and industrial sectors, Gundo Engineering and Projects (Pty) Ltd. operates a fleet of side tipper trucks. The company recently added five DAF XF 105 460 Robust trucks to its fleet which will be used for coal and chrome transportation. Gundo Engineering and Projects (Pty) Ltd. is part of the Gundo Group of Companies, with operations in Gauteng and Mpumalanga.

A long-standing DAF customer, Managing Director Mulalo Colin Tshivhase says that DAF trucks have proven to be economically viable and stand out for their reliability, which were the key motivating factors for returning to Babcock for more DAF trucks.

Gundo Engineering and Projects (Pty) Ltd. has also opted for a DAF truck maintenance contract as part of Babcock’s total transport offering that aims to help transporters achieve the highest possible profit from their vehicles.

Leyland Trucks: half million vehicle production milestone

Leyland Trucks, the UK-based manufacturer of the full range of DAF trucks, has celebrated the production of its 500,000th vehicle. The milestone truck – a 16-tonne GVW DAF LF 210 – was handed over to customer Minoli at a special production line ceremony.

DAF XF, XG and XG⁺ Awarded International Truck of the Year 2022

DAF’s new generation of trucks for long distance haulage has been crowned ‘International Truck of the Year 2022’. “The XF, XG and XG⁺ set a new industry benchmark in efficiency, safety and driver comfort”, the jury stated after an extensive series of tests. The prestigious award was handed over at the Solutrans truck & transport exhibition in Lyon, France. DAF was also honoured the ‘2022 Truck Innovation Award’ for its XF Innovation Truck with a hydrogen combustion engine.
