Innovative technology for the African energy market.
Among the innovations introduced to the African energy market are Atmospheric Fluidised Bed Combustion (AFBC) boilers that can burn low quality fuels. Babcock is the only local supplier with an installed base of this technology. Our unit at Mondi Merebank, awarded the 2010 SA National Energy Association’s Energy Project of the Year, burns six different fuels in various ratios, while complying with EU based emissions criteria. We handle a variety of energy sources and our offering includes boilers of bi-drum or single drum design, with optimum configuration.
