A new career path for Mafoko

Mafoko, 28, originally from Limpopo and now living in Gauteng, struggled to find consistent work before joining the YES Program in 2021. His placement at Afrika Tikkun Services as a Recruitment Assessment Administrator gave him the opportunity to develop essential career skills. He managed documentation, facilitated assessments, and conducted background checks while gaining confidence in public speaking and recruitment.

Supported by Babcock’s sponsorship, one of the Top 50 champions of youth employment, Mafoko’s hard work paid off when he secured permanent employment and earned a bursary to further his education. He now aspires to become a Recruitment Specialist and credits Babcock for the support that set him on a new career path. Mafoko encourages other youth to take full advantage of similar opportunities that foster growth and personal development.
