Just over a year after taking on the exclusive dealership for BULL skid steers and backhoe loaders, Babcock has achieved remarkable growth in a highly competitive South African market. Despite over 24 suppliers vying for market share, Babcock has sold more than 100 backhoe loaders since July 2023, securing a spot in the top five market players.
Unmatched Support
Babcock’s reputation for strong aftermarket support has played a pivotal role in BULL’s success. Leveraging over 60 years of experience in construction equipment sales and service, Babcock has expanded BULL’s reach into sectors like quarrying, mining and agriculture.
“BULL’s proven performance, combined with Babcock’s extensive support network, has strengthened the brand’s position. Together, we’re unlocking new opportunities across the region,” says Mark Senyard, Product Manager – BULL at Babcock.
Commitment from the Principal
Indian OEM BULL has demonstrated its commitment to South Africa by appointing a dedicated executive, Nitin Bojappa, to focus on the region. Recent training sessions and customer visits led by Bojappa underscore this support.
Innovative and Robust Equipment
Babcock offers BULL’s AV490 skid steer in two variants, with a high-flow model set to debut in 2025. For backhoe loaders, the HD76, HD96, and HD100 models provide options tailored to diverse applications.
The machines stand out with high-quality components like Carraro transmissions, Perkins and Kirloskar engines, and Danfoss braking systems. The rugged design adds durability and performance advantages, including larger buckets, higher dump heights and superior hydraulic force.
“BULL backhoe loaders deliver exceptional reliability and performance. These features position us to continue growing our market share in Southern Africa,” concludes Senyard.
