Babcock empowers entrepreneurs to grow sustainably

Hlali Sefika, Managing Director and Founder of Oven Miracles Enterprises, joined the Babcock Entrepreneurship Development Programme at a critical point in his entrepreneurial journey — a time he describes as a “pivot” or near-failure. What he found was more than training; it was a community of like-minded entrepreneurs navigating the same challenges.

For Hlali, the programme offered both strategic and personal development. It helped him refine key business fundamentals such as planning, leadership, and financial management, while also highlighting the role of mental health and self-esteem in entrepreneurship. One of the most valuable aspects was the sense of unity he experienced — the ability to share stories from the “trenches” with peers who understood the journey.

With support from both Babcock and Henley mentors, he now approaches business proposals with a clear value proposition and is equipped with practical tools — including a modern laptop and relevant frameworks — to manage and grow his enterprise.
