Babcock is proud to continue its support for the Eskom Expo for Young Scientists International Science Fair (ISF), a platform that showcases the brightest young minds in science, technology, engineering, mathematics and innovation (STEMI).
At this year’s ISF, Babcock will award four Babcock NextGen Engineering Bursaries, each valued at R1 million, to outstanding learners who have received provisional acceptance into a South African university. The bursaries will fund undergraduate Mechanical Engineering studies and include paid vacation work, ensuring learners gain both academic and practical industry experience.
This investment reflects Babcock’s commitment to developing critical engineering skills, creating career pathways for young South Africans, and supporting the industries and communities in which we operate.
“Through initiatives like the Eskom Expo ISF, we see first-hand the talent and potential of South Africa’s future engineers. By offering these bursaries, Babcock is proud to play a part in shaping the careers of tomorrow’s innovators,” says Roger O’Callahan, CEO of Babcock Africa.
