Katlego, 24, from Fourways, overcame unemployment and financial hardship through the Babcock-sponsored YES Program. Before joining the program, he worked in marketing and started a cleaning business but struggled to find long-term opportunities.
Placed at Afrika Tikkun Services as an administrator under the National Youth Service Program, Katlego gained experience in contracting candidates, data management, and administrative processes using tools like Excel and Payspace. Over time, he developed strong communication skills, the ability to work under pressure, and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Katlego’s growth led to a permanent position at Afrika Tikkun Services, where he has contributed across departments including Work Experience and Education and Care. With plans to pursue project management courses, he aims to advance into a managerial role within the next five years.
Katlego credits Babcock’s sponsorship as pivotal in his journey, enabling him to secure financial independence and professional growth. His story highlights the transformative impact of the YES Program on youth employment and career development.
