Western Cape-based Potgieter Logistics (Pty) Ltd recently added five DAF Trucks to their fleet. The trucks will be used for long-distance transporting of materials for the construction and mining industries.
Alwyn van Deventer from Potgieter Logistics, says the company opted for the DAF XF105.460, XF105.480 Smart and XF105.480 Premium models for their fuel efficiency, spacious cab and low maintenance cost. “Other stand-out features of the trucks are the lane-keeping function and vehicle stability, as well as the excellent air suspension,” says Alwyn.
Built for the long haul, the DAF XF105 is all about comfort, power and performance. The DAF XF sets the benchmark for long-distance transport, and comes with a 12.9 litre PACCAR MX engine, packed with 462 horsepower and 2300 Nm torque. The DAF-designed and produced engine combines exceptional performance with economical fuel consumption. Rivalled only by its successor model in terms of space, the Super Space Cab offers top comfort to the driver.
Potgieter Logistics took delivery of the new trucks at the end of June and Alwyn says that the drivers are looking forward to the DAF driving experience.
As part of Babcock’s total transport solution for DAF Trucks, the company has opted for a package that includes finance, fleet management and tracking, as well as truck maintenance contracts.
“I think DAF is a very good truck and will take a big portion of the market in SA,” concludes Alwyn.
