Each year, the Ignite Babcock Awards recognise individuals and teams across Babcock International Group worldwide who bring our purpose to life and demonstrate the principles that guide how we work. As a global recognition programme, the awards celebrate practical actions that strengthen our culture — especially when it comes to safety, collaboration and continuous improvement.
This spirit was clearly demonstrated by Elvis from our Transport Solutions team, whose practical thinking turned a simple observation into a meaningful improvement. By paying attention to daily workshop routines, Elvis noticed that technicians were regularly losing time searching for separate wheel chocks. Rather than accepting this as part of the process, he asked how it could be improved.
His solution was straightforward and effective: linking the wheel chocks together. The result was safer working conditions, improved efficiency and more consistent behaviour across the workshop — a small change with a measurable impact.
