Building on over a decade of success with SDLG wheel loaders and motor graders, Babcock is excited to introduce four models of SDLG excavators to the South African market: the 6-tonne (t) E660FL, 13-t E6135H, 21-t E6215H, and 34-t E6335H. Previously available only in China, the Middle East, and Brazil, these excavators have proven their reliability in demanding environments for nearly 15 years.
“We are excited to add the range of SDLG excavators to our line of products,” says David Vaughan, MD – Equipment at Babcock. “This is a good quality, cost-effective product with a ‘premium’ touch, thanks to Volvo’s 70% ownership of SDLG. Customers have praised the build quality, efficiency, performance, and productivity of these machines.”
The E6215H model, weighing 21 tons, features an electronically controlled unit pump with a high-pressure fuel supply system for optimal power and fuel efficiency, resulting in a 10% reduction in fuel consumption compared to previous models. Its advanced electronically controlled positive full flow control system enhances performance and operating efficiency by 10%.
The E6335H, a robust 34-ton model, is equipped with a 1.9 m³ bucket and a powerful 215 kW Deutz engine, making it ideal for quarrying, small-scale mining, large infrastructure projects, and earthworks. This model has quickly gained traction in the market, with several units already operational, demonstrating exceptional performance beyond expectations in challenging applications.
Babcock's introduction of these SDLG excavators underscores its commitment to meeting customer needs in the construction and quarrying sectors.
