Louis van den Bergh joined Babcock in 2013. He sold his first SDLG machine in his first three months. In the three years that he has been with the company, he has visited the SDLG factory in China twice and received extensive training on the SDLG range of equipment.
One man, fifty machines
Most of Louis's customers have 2 or 3 SDLG machines, while one customer owns 13 SDLG machines. The LG958L is his most popular sell. The machines are usually used for material handling eg. sand, grain products, fertilizer, aggregates. Half of his customers are on service contracts. Depending on the application, machines are serviced either at every 250 hours or every 500 hours.
In October 2016, Louis sold his 50th SDLG machine, a SDLG LG958L wheeled loader, to Express Warehousing. His in-depth knowledge of the machines has helped Louis achieve such a remarkable milestone.

According to Louis, the reason the SDLG machines are proving so popular is because they are value for money, robust machines. However, he believes that a vital part of the success of the SDLG brand in southern Africa lies in the aftermarket and parts support provided by Babcock.
