CE Dealer Team Secures Points in FIA World RX Restart in South Africa with Babcock's Support
In a thrilling return to the FIA World RX championship after a three-month hiatus, the CE Dealer Team, supported by Volvo Construction Equipment and Gold Sponsor Babcock, navigated the challenging South African double header. This marked a pivotal moment for the team's push for diversity and electrification, venturing onto African soil for the first time.
During the South African rounds, Niclas Grönholm exhibited a strong performance, making it to the final on both days and clinching fifth and sixth places. His commendable feat places him just eight points away from the second position in the drivers’ standings. However, Grönholm acknowledged the challenges faced, stating, "It was a tricky weekend. I need to work hard to get back on pace in Hong Kong."
The debut of Swedish rallycross star Klara Andersson at the Killarney Raceway proved formidable as she reached the final on Sunday, securing a fifth-place finish. Despite the track's difficulties and her initial struggles to find the right feel in the car, Andersson remains determined, expressing, "We need to analyze everything before Hong Kong and hopefully find more speed."
The team's performance, although not without its challenges, stands strong, securing crucial points and currently holding third place in the teams’ standings leaving South Africa. Team Manager Jussi Pinomäki emphasized the need to learn from their experiences, stating, "We now need to analyze, keep learning and work hard to bounce back stronger in Hong Kong."
