Babcock celebrates impressive safety milestones.
In a significant announcement, Thava Govender, CEO of Babcock’s engineering business in South Africa, revealed an impressive safety achievement: the team has marked a full year of ZERO Disabling Injury Incident Rate (DIIR). This milestone underscores the company's steadfast commitment to creating a safe working environment for its employees.
Further highlighting Babcock’s safety culture, the DAF truck division, led by MD Marius Barnard, has reached an even more remarkable milestone—12 consecutive years of ZERO DIIR.
“These milestones are a testament to the hard work, dedication and safety-first mindset of every team member at Babcock,” said Govender. “We believe in the power of collaboration, and this achievement reflects our shared commitment to maintaining the highest safety standards in every aspect of our operations.”
As part of Babcock's ongoing safety efforts, the company remains focused on continuous improvement and is committed to sustaining these results in the years to come. Both divisions have set their sights on achieving another year of ZERO DIIR, ensuring that the safety of every team member remains a top priority.
With the focus on fostering a culture of care, Babcock continues to lead by example in the engineering and transport sectors, proving that safety is not just a priority but a core value.
Let’s keep up the momentum and aim for another year of ZERO DIIR!
